Our History, Mission & Principles. And the Staff to Uphold Them
Because it speaks to what it takes to do the work we do. It takes RESOLVE to leave an abusive partner and successfully rebuild your life and it takes RESOLVE to challenge deeply rooted cultural beliefs that allow intimate partner violence to continue in alarming numbers throughout our community and the world.
RESOLVE of Greater Rochester, Inc. began as two organizations, Safe Journey and Stand Up Guys. Both were looking for ways to make a major difference in the fight to end domestic violence. Safe Journey focused on intervention and prevention education, Stand Up Guys focused on prevention by engaging men in the solution.
Together we knew we could make a greater impact and open eyes and change lives.
To develop and deliver innovative, community-centered programs and services that empower people and communities to break the cycle of domestic violence.
We create safe communities where people are treated with dignity & respect.
We believe everyone deserves to thrive; our programs and services lift people and communities such that they can challenge entrenched beliefs & overcome adversity.
Working together with client, culture & community, with a true spirit of ‘WE.’ We value relationships and engage together to create thriving communities free of intimate partner abuse.
With fierce determination, we explore old problems in new ways.
With context of community at the fore, our initiatives reflect the specific needs of the people and partners we serve.
Outcomes derived by the people, partners and communities we serve are the measure of our effectiveness.
