RESOLVE announces Mary Whittier as Interim CEO

The Board of Directors of RESOLVE of Greater Rochester, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing and delivering innovative community-centered solutions that empower individuals, families and communities to break the cycle of domestic violence, announced today that Mary Whittier will step in as Interim CEO. Allison (Alli) O’Malley, former Chief Executive Officer, is transitioning to an independent role of advocacy and public service for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, effective December 31, 2019, after 11 years of service.

Effective January 13, 2020, Whittier will begin her role with a primary responsibility of working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, partners and supporters to support RESOLVE move into the next chapter of the organization’s development. She will be creating a strategic plan that will ensure the organization continues to strengthen and grow.
Whittier comes to RESOLVE having previously been the founding Executive Director of Bivona Child Advocacy Center and social work experience at Golisano Children’s hospital.

My passion lies with children and families and the mission of RESOLVE is one that resonates deeply with what I want to do professionally. It’s an exciting time for RESOLVE and I’m grateful to have this opportunity to help make an impact on what comes next.

As we move into this transition for RESOLVE, we can’t thank Alli enough for her dedication, passion and the critical role she has played in the development and success of RESOLVE. We welcome Mary to her new appointment as our interim CEO with both excitement and gratitude. The future is bright for RESOLVE under the leadership of Mary. She is a long-tenured advocate against child abuse and family violence in the greater Rochester region and as the former Executive Director of Bivona. She comes to us with a unique set of talents and experience of both advocacy and building organizations through networks and collaboration.

Our Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We will continue to update this post as new information and/or adjustments to our counseling procedures become available.

RESOLVE has been providing services virtually since the onset of the Coronavirus. Since late June we are back to offering in-person sessions following New York State mandated guidelines.

Our therapy sessions are being held in our conference room to ensure privacy, social distancing and healthy ventilation. Strict sanitation routines are being followed between appointments. Prior to in-office visits, clients are required to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire.

For those that are not ready to come into the office, we continue our teletherapy by video conferencing via Zoom or Doxy, or by telephone.

Rest assured, we are fully staffed and ready to help in whatever means is most comfortable for you…in the office, telephone, or teletherapy. Together we are here to help empower you to break the cycle of domestic and intimate partner violence.
